If you turn up at a firing range in a Japanese car what will your fellow shootists make of it all? Might they call you Pearl Harbor? You're new in town, you don't want people to think you supported Hirohito.
Good point, though otherwise Toyota has always been a top brand.
He might also take a look at the Hyundai hybrid.
