Hello. Hope you have all been well. I am translating a text about carpal tunnel syndrome. Is the sentence below correct:

Usually both sides are affected, the dominant hand more severely.

Or should I say something like, "Usually both sides are affected, with the dominant hand being more severely so."

If there's an even better way of saying that, please feel free to suggest.
