Peace Over War
I've always had trouble figuring out how this is a war "protecting America's freedoms".
Our poor, brave, sitting duck soldiers in Iraq are not fighting this war for me. This is Bush's war.
Not that I don't "support our troops". They're only doing what they've been told to do.
And I wish they didn't have to.
Actually they are fighting this war for you, so that iraq will become more peaceful and less of a security threat to our country.
Hi neoGuin:
As I've said before, reinstate the draft so the sons of wealthy, white Congressmen are sent to the shooting gallery called post-Saddam Iraq, and I guarantee you Bush's war for oil and legacy will come to a screeching halt within weeks.

Vietnam is now more peaceful and less of a security threat.
Couldn't we get there in Iraq with out so many casualties?

But then, there was a lot of negotiation and actual communication with the Vietnamese. The conservatives here now consider that to be appeasement! So I guess the answer is NO.
Titus:
They tried that, and you see what happened with our current CIC:(

Come on suzy... Iraq has certainly become more peaceful.
I do hope you're kidding!
For some Iraqis, it's good that Saddam is gone, but Iraq is nowhere near peaceful!
And I, who this war is being fought for, feel pretty darn worried about the future of the USA. Even more so than in September, 2001.
Saddam's regime gone is a plus. But to claim Iraq is 'peaceful', particularly given the last few days, isn't a very convincing claim, e.
