Hi all
This is about interpreting the results of statistical tests. I have a case here where I used Mann-Whitney to see how male and female students differed on their attitudes towards a certain study subject (ordinal scale). I ran the test and found significant variation between both groups.
Now what I am trying to understand: can I report who is more supporting and who is less?
Or just to say variation does exist and that it.
I read that this is 2-tailed test and hence no certain direction can be deduced? If it was one tailed then it is OK to say which is the supporter.
Or
can I use the mean ranks and to tell who is higher and hence for example females are the supporters of this subject.
Thank you for help
