Gasoline prices have reached record levels with some markets in the country paying more than $2.00 a gallon. Many fear $3.00 a gallon by July 4th.
Remember when candidate Bush was asked about gas prices back in the summer of 2000'?
I do.
Naturally, I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone who might've forgotten his tough talking reply.
On June 21, 2000, candidate Bush said OPEC can be blamed as the "main reason" for high gas prices. Bush said the "main reason" for gas prices was OPEC withholding production and he "would hope the Clinton administration could convince our friends at OPEC to open up the spigots." [Associated Press, 6/21/00]
Candidate Bush appeared to have cajones.
Now, nearly 4 years after the stolen election, when it comes to convincing OPEC to open up the spigots, the only cajones Bush has are scrambled and on his breakfast plate.
