Its hard to see but there seem to be two punctures about a quarter inch apart in the middle.

Could be a reaction to an ant bite. Tell her to keep an eye on it and if it looks to be getting worse, go to the doctor.

For most of the bug bites I get on an almost daily basis, I use a dab of benadryl cream on them. Immediately takes away the itch and seems to reduce the healing time. You can get it at most drug stores, OTC.
