The wife of the Secretary of State, John F. Kerry, is listed in "critical but stable" condition at Massachusetts General Hospital
according to the Boston Globe.
Quote:Teresa Heinz Kerry, leading philanthropist and wife of US Secretary of State John F. Kerry, was at Massachusetts General Hospital tonight after being rushed this afternoon to Nantucket Cottage Hospital, where a hospital spokesman had said she was in critical but stable condition.
Heinz Kerry, 74, was stricken while at the family’s vacation home, according to State Department spokesman Glen Johnson
. . .
Heinz Kerry was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2009 and underwent surgery and radiation treatments. She has publicly encouraged other women to get regular mammograms to help enable early detection of the disease.
Since Kerry resigned from the Senate to become secretary of state in January, she has traveled with him on several of his foreign trips.

Ms Heinz was reported to have had a grand mal seizure. The small community hospital to which she was first admitted stabilized and then transported her on her own jet to the MGH in Boston.
The cause of the seizure is under investigation. She is in stable condition today.
@Miller,
I didn't realize she was subject to epileptic seizures. Thanx of that, Miller.
@Lustig Andrei,
It looks like this may have been the first one of this magnitude.
Ms Heinz Kerry was at the MGH for 5 days. She has now been transferred to a rehab in Boston.
Still no word about the cause of hermedical problems.
