@BillRM,
BillRM wrote:I love the attacks on the stand your ground law over the Zimmerman/Trayvon case as when someone come up to you and sucker punch you and then get on top of you the old self defense law is all you need.
Under the old law outside of your home or your business you have a duty to retreat if you can do so safety before you can employee deadly force.
Given that Zimmerman found himself under Trayvon
with no chance to retreat afterward
the stand your ground law does not matter
one way or another.
Izzy, this is the point.
Bill already wrote it out,
obviating my doing so.
For this reason, the stand your ground law
had no application to these facts.
Concerning this incident, I have posted in defense
of freedom of self defense, not on any racial basis.
If a white were sitting on my chest or gut,
slamming my head on the street, I 'd shoot him as fast as possible.
Race does not enter into the analysis. I dont let whites treat me that badly.
