You did take note that the drive for the millions of dollars is a law suit aim at her brother not at her

You're the one who's not taking note of the fact that this lawsuit is in federal court because it alleges violations of federal laws. Both Paula and her brother are defendants. And her brother has admitted to racially and sexually inappropriate behavior in the workplace, on his part, that employees were subjected to--and she knew about that, but did nothing about it, because her brother is "a good man".

That you just keep repeating the same nonsense over and over and over suggests you are brain-dead.

And you seem to have forgotten you've also been labeled "the village idiot" by the owner of this site. Laughing

Still others said the rowdy, raunchy work environment described in the lawsuit against Ms. Deen and her brother by a former employee of their Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House in Savannah, Ga., was endemic in restaurant kitchens.

“I’ve seen porn and racist jokes, foul language — it’s pretty extreme and it happens more than most people know,” Kevin Sbraga, 34, an African-American chef in Philadelphia, said of the many restaurant kitchens he has worked in, in the North and in the South.

@hawkeye10,
Are you suggesting that the federal charges against Deen and her brother are not serious?
They're serious enough that other corporations don't want to be associated with such discriminatory business practices--or with her.

The fact that such conditions are endemic simply means sexual harassment and racially offensive behavior is being tolerated--in violation of federal laws. Is he saying such practices shouldn't be stopped?

@hawkeye10,
One chef's ignorance is no excuse for sexual harassment or racial slurs.
You'll never "get it," because we're not talking about how a few of you allows it to happen.

I'd like to see all of you guilty of these business malpractice in court - trying to defend your ignorance by saying "it's common practice."

i am suggesting that these charges being filed in federal court says nothing about the seriousness or frivolity of these charges....your argument is bullshit, a common occurrence.

@hawkeye10,
Paula Deen just found out how serious those charges in federal court are.

You're the one peddling bullshit.

Because sexually and racially offensive, and inappropriate, and discriminatory, practices in a workplace environment are "endemic" does not make them acceptable, or tolerable--or legal.

however it is not fair to PD to whip her for doing what so many do...to a point. we dont believe in singling people out for harsh measures to send a message to all the other wrong doers...remember?

@hawkeye10,
All establishments in which similar practices go on should be sued.

No one is singling Paula Deen out. She's not the only person to have ever been sued over such matters. And people, who have been subjected to similar workplace conditions, should continue to bring suits.

If employers don't uphold federal laws, the only recourse is for employees, or ex-employees, to bring such lawsuits.

i dont agree, I think that she just found out that not minding your business relationships, not looking out for the success of your partners as well as yourself, will **** you if adversity comes your way. she also has a poor relationship with other southern chefs, which also hurts her. what we are seeing is the business version of the bitch on wheels who dies alone.

@hawkeye10,
You don't know what you're talking about...

She just found out it's important to enforce federal laws in the workplace--particularly those relating to racial discrimination and sexual harassment.
And covering up your ugly workplace secrets with a big smile and a lot of "Southern charm" won't work in the work of big business.

her empire is not falling apart because she violated a law, that has next to nothing to do with it....her problem is that she has been deemed morally unfit because she has been judged to be a racist, and all of her partners are using that as an excuse to push a now useless bitch over the rail into the ocean. if they cared about her and could make money off of her they would have gone the other way. the idea that business men care about personal virtue is hoot, our business community is incredibly corrupt, and made up of successful criminals. Wallstreet is example A, but there are many more.

She's been exposed as having attitudes and business practices that other corporations want no part of, and they want no further association with her.

Any one can bring a federal lawsuit over federal laws and it is still private lawyers doing so not the federal government.

Didn't you know that "private lawyers" bring cases up to the Supreme Court?
