How much understanding does it take to teach in the 'inner City' school system?

Educating African-American students requires understanding.

In fact , great deal of understanding is required to educate Black kids.

First, a teacher must realize that Blacks have little interest in the subject matter usually taught in a typical school or classroom environment.

In some instances Black kids have a better fix on social realities than many Whites.And this is something that teachers fail to take into account.

Blacks will respond if there is a very direct link between what is taught and what they will earn ,and it must be realized within a few months or no more than a year's time. They must start getting paid right away. That's the incentive.to learn!

Other than that ,they will consider it a big waste of time.

Long term planning for a career will not work ,since they know that no employer will want to hire someone that looks like a primitive savage or something from out of the swamps of Equatorial Africa.

So what's the point of learning something that will not make any money for them; easier to pimp or sell drugs.

Do we want these students in our classrooms ? that's the question!

@count markovalley,
Your question seems a slight racist, yes?

Culturally destitute children are predisposed to focus their interest into practical skills, yes. However, not all African descent citizens are hopeless some-day pimps. I know some very intelligent dark skinned gentlemen. I feel that your perception has been skewed by something in your life. You have fallaciously created a categorization of economic background and group behaviour with a racial profile.

@RealEyes,
pimping for blacks is not considered an immoral or depraved career field.

selling drugs, while not confined to black race only professionals is nonetheless a detestable occupation for whites and is so considered.
blacks suffer no such illusions;it's simply a way to earn good money.
pimping for blacks can only occur due to the vast number of black females engaging in this business. but sadly there're quite a few depraved and disgusting degenerate white females who also are in the same business.
it still remains unacceptable for white but blacks think otherwise;that's the issue.

The true question is do we want racists like you accepted in society.

The answer is no.

@RealEyes,
The truth is simply that. The truth can never be racist. While it is true that not ALL african-americans are serial rapists or violent criminals and I'm not suggesting that at all. It's only the majority of African-americans that are.
