Older nurses unable to find jobs!!!!!

I lost a job because a new Adminstrator was getting involved in the
medical aspect of my position (Director of Resident Services) which was outside her scope of practice. I said something and she fired me! I have sent out 100 applications with about 5 interviews. I think it's my age that is preventing employers from hiring me. I don't look 62, or act 62 and have a lot of life left in me. I was planning to stay at this job until I retired at around 70! I think it's a shame those of us who have so much knowledge to give are being shafted.
