@Olivier5,
Interesting...I am trying to see if I understand your position correctly....

Are you saying that a "Jesus" had existed, but he was not a savior of any kind?

Do you care about history? Do you realize that the word Jesus did not exist 500 years ago?

You call it hearsay...I call it a ridiculous claim...

The word "hearsay" has a commonly-accepted dictionary definition, and the stories in the Bible fit that definition. You can call that ridiculous if you want, but that would just be you inventing a language of your own. It would have nothing to do with you describing reality.

Very clearly, I don't believe in god and mythology, but I think there's a lot of evidence backing the idea of a guy called Jesus preaching and teaching important stuff, and ending up on a cross.

That however does not mean Jesus did not "save" anyone. IMO his message is very powerful and helped a lot of people, including me. I would go as far as finding in his message one of the roots of humanism and of the idea of human rights.

Well if the letters J and u did not exist then I would have to say it does seem puzzling.

Millions of people have been looking for this evidence, will you please share it with us all?

Do you believe that this is true? Do you reject that this is true? Can you "prove" either one is true? 2 Cents Idea

How about "the fact" of people bearing the wounds of a stigmata?

Why? You knew exactly what I meant both times I have said so...even though you claim that the letters did not exist...

LOL... Who would these "millions" be?

I have already shared some: mentions of the dude in the Antiquities of the Jews by Josephus; mentions of him in the Talmud... Even the very large number of gospels and the rapid rise of the Church shows that there was some sort of original phenomenum that sent all this in motion. It seems reasonnable to believe there was such a guy.

The idea Jesus did not exist requires that all these sources are lies, AND also that a very successful church constituted itself and rose based on nothing... Seems really hard to believe.

What evidence do you have that he did NOT exist?
