Woodward is putting out another book too that suggests Powell was hamstrung by the evil neocons to do their bidding.

Clarke has republican credentials more than democrat, so Clarke is one of theirs abandoning their stupidity.

The incompetence of 9/11 is under investigation. The outing of Plame supposedly is. The secret energy meetings were, if they still aren't. Now more abandonment of the ultraright ideology at work in Iraq. Bush deliberately underpriced the Medicorp Bill to get it passed - another investigation. The Middle East is in more conflict than every now, a year later - the banner stating MISSION ACCOMPLISHED not withstanding. There are still those quick flights out of the US for the Saudi family, and the 28 blank pages about them. Osama bin Laden eludes Bush still, as does the 2nd Al-Quaeda kingpin. Now new terrorists groups are gung ho to get Bush. Oil prices continue to rise. New jobs are not being created. The deficit expands rapidly. Federal goverment is expanding mightily right alongside government dependency programs. Children are getting left behind, but fetuses are being redefined for a future attack on Roe v. Wade. Gays are up against Mary Crow laws. AIDS in AFrica is ignored. The environment no longer needs protection. Competence for labor is being restricted for the few, not the many. Virtual slavery for profits by Owners is making a big comeback with every American job outsourced to a cheaper wage.

The world is in a great amount of trouble in a remarkably short time. Bush's neocon federalist ideology has no place in the future of our planet, and yet, even so, the few clinging to this ideology are imprinting it all over the planet even as you read this.

How long before the powdered wigs return?

Americans have a curious view of history, in that they think their way was always the way, but for most of 6,000 years, no one even dared attempt what America so far has succeeding in doing...the ease with which we could pitch back into the days of kings and emperors is not so far-fetched as you might think. Most of history is about kings and emperors, not freedom.
