The independent commission investigating the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, called on the White House yesterday to waive its constitutional concerns and make National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice available for public testimony on Capitol Hill today.

The administration has said Rice will not testify because of "separation of power issues" that preclude Congress from forcing the president's advisers to testify.

Huh? A ball and chain can't keep Condi away from the television camera and appearances on the Sunday morning blab circuit!

If the president is within his rights to prohibit Rice from testifying under oath and in public, he should also restrain her from speaking in public via the media.

Condi Rice is going down with the Bush Administration ship in November.

doglover:

I agree, she's on her out with the one-way Ryder truck in November.

However, I must add having heard Le Rice on numerous occassions spinning away for her boss, her command of the issues is slight by any measure, and her efforts usually lead to more questions than answers.

She's a lightweight with a degree in a nation that no longer exists: the USSR.
