Lordy? I'll check underneath my couch cushions to see if I have enough.

If I do lend you the money then I'm moving into this part of the house:

@tsarstepan,
I rather like the top right-hand turret - quite a view from there, I'd imagine!

@saab,
Your wallpaper re childhood dream is like my aunt's bedroom wall paper. I remember being in there when I had the measles as a child and later glancing in when we lived there for a couple of year with her.

@ossobuco,
A very average sort of English drawing room - small but comfortable.

Haven't read up yet, posting to mark that I remember liking a photo of Christopher Hitchens in front of his books (or was that some other writer, pause).
I'll see if I can dig that up later.

@vonny,
I'm on it, they need me! (I'm kidding, I stopped paying for my license.) What a design blank slate except for the obvious, climate and climate, and the nature of the house. A design feed bag for a landscape architect. I hope whoever gets that place, owner and the hired, design wisely and with some fun.

I think I took this photo at the de Young museum in San Francisco - I've got the artist's name somewhere, but not at the tip of my tongue. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v722/ossobuco/girlindeyoung2.jpg
I believe the artist is George de forest Brush
Wow some of the houses are so big!

@trying2learn,
Yes, that's his name.

Here's a house that appeals to me, from the one photo -

http://www.theguardian.com/money/gallery/2012/jul/06/snooping-around-homes-market#/?picture=392604249&index=1

In the country: Argyll. This is a former lighthouse keeper’s cottage in Toward with water and mountain views, yet it’s also commutable from Glasgow. Yours for £299,999, it has three beds and half-an-acre. But it’s not the glorious isolation you might think: there is a clutch of other cottages close by.

@saab,
I like the lines of the house, simple, clean. Quite the opposite of what I think of as contractor houses here in the U.S. - that often make no sense.

@vonny,
Ok, here - it's bit spicy. The imbedded toppings include garlic. spicy green pepper (ordinary green peppers that I saute with chile powder), kalamata olives, mushroom stems, and bits of tinned anchovies. You can give it back if you don't like all that..

ok, back to bed now.
