If you think all underground/subway/metro stations are the same, check out this site. Fantastic!

Museum Station on the TTC (Toronto) is the stop for the Royal Ontario Museum, the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Gardiner Museum, a museum of ceramics and ceramic art. The pillars which support the roof over the platform are the special aspect of this station.

This is so cool.

I particularly like the ones in Stockholm, that are carved out of the rock.

Our tube stations are more prosaic, (and older,) but there is beauty in a way.

@Lustig Andrei,
Wow! The stations in Russia really are exquisite--palatial. And the others are spectacular too. Thanks for bringing them to our attention, LA.

I know they've tried to introduce art into the NYC subways, for a long time, but on a considerably smaller, more modest, scale.

I wish we had even more art in our public spaces, so many of them are bland and boring without it.

@Lustig Andrei,
Moscow has many beautiful stations. Our local guide took us on a subway ride and showed us a few, but that was many years ago, and I'm not sure I'd be able to find any photos.

Perhaps not one of the most beautiful metro stations, but interesting at least ...

Dahlem-Dorf (Dahlem Village) is a Berlin U-Bahn station. It was built in 1913, looking like a traditional northern-German (Lower Saxony) farmhouse.

The ("modern art") seats on the platform are interesting as well

@Lustig Andrei,
Stockholm subway is kind of the longest art exhibition in the world - 110 kilometers.
It shows art since the 1950. 90 out of 100 stations have some form of art, paintings, sculptures etc made by 150 different artists.

@Walter Hinteler,
Another on from Berlin: the U-Bahn station Schöneberger Rathaus (Schöneberg Town Hall), built in 1913 in a city park.
