Surely you must like the way he bust the snooty priest's asses?
And the way he blew the ancient harsh laws out of the water like this?-

But only if you do as I command.

Hey...Saddam Hussein used to say the same thing. And so did Joe Stalin!

I don't think Jesus commanded "Invade Kuwait and gas the Kurds", or "Build gulags and enslave Eastern Europe"!
Jesus's "commands" sound ok to me..Smile-

Perhaps not...but your Jesus said he would be a friend...IF YOU DO AS I COMMAND.

And as I pointed out, Romeo...Saddam Hussein and Joe Stalin felt that same way.

Hell for that matter...so did Caligula and Nero and Gengis Khan and Idi Amin and...well...you get the idea.

So what mate? What point are you trying to make?
If you were giving somebody golf lessons you'd say- "Just do exactly as I tell you and you'll be alright".
And only a couple of days ago I told the members of my PC wargaming tank platoon- "I'll court-martial anybody who returns to base after the battle with more than half his high explosive shells on board!"

The only point I am making (not trying) is that you keep mentioning that your version of Jesus wants to be pals with everyone...not to be a master.

But the verse just above the one you quoted...tells us that he will be our pals...but only if we do as he commands.

Adolf Hitler woulda been your pal if you did what he commanded!

Think about it, Romeo...and maybe it will register.

Wow Calamity I'm flattered you saved the photo of me and my camping knife, does your hub know you save pics of hunky men?..Smile
And I don't sell knives, unlike some..
Incidentally Jesus's right-hand man Peter carried a sword and sliced off the high priest's flunky's ear with it (below) but i haven't done that to anybody yet, ha ha!

Well, sales requires a certain personality. Here's the most sinister of knives I might sell, the SOG Seal Pup.
http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/neologist/SealPup.JPG

These I sell for $1 each.

http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/neologist/3Knife.JPG

$6 for this kit. Best use I can think of for .38 brass. About 15,000 fires in that flint. But it takes practice to use it.

@neologist,
I am pretty sure that if they were being raised in a nazi village they would only grow up to be nazis, so Mick was doing a service.

We can't be sure, and we can't be sure of it for every religion because we don't know them all. That said, it's still a good bet that any particular religion is wrong, for at least two reasons: (1) Stories without evidence have a statistical tendency to be false in the first place, and (2) most religious communities consider it virtuous to tell stories, believe them without evidence, and re-tell them. Together, these two features make it pretty safe to bet that any particular religion gets a lot of things wrong.

Not bad, its about the same size as this one of mine, unlike bigger knives it's ideal for keeping unobtrusively in a pocket and easier to go into action with if ever I find myself in a crowded lift full of zombs-

Tactical note- But if there's plenty of room to brandish one, a big knife will always trump a little knife...
