I agree with what is behind your claim Neal.
The only way to prove God to one’s self is to offer one’s very life as a test. If your object is first and foremost - a happy life here on earth, Christianity is not for you.
Nobody, definitely not me, said it was easy. But I would not trade the experience for anything else.

I have found that there are two ways to find happiness in life:
(1) live life as a fully committed Christian.
(2) follow Jesus' teachings as a non-Christian (a person reaps what he sows).
The problem with #2 is what happens when the person dies.

What is overwhelming proof to one person is not necessarily overwhelming proof to another person.
MontereyJack is relatively safe in his unbelief as long as he is physically alive. After physical death occurs, he will have to prove that God does not exist.
I need to accept the fact that Universalists are incorrect. I have done my best to explain why I believe in Jesus. It is up to God and MontereyJack. I can only pray.

A sin...is something that offends your god.

Why, oh, why would someone have to be tortured and put to death because people do things that offend some god?

Do you realize how absurd that notion is?

You seem okay with the idea that your god is saying, "Some of the things you do offend me, but if you torture and kill my son, I will forgive you."

That is insanity.

Name one thing?

Jesus claimed he was God come in the flesh and willingly gave up his life....it wasn’t taken from him.

Who was it that put him on the cross? ....you say it was a God......God says it was man under the direction of the devil.

What did the Jews and non conformists do that justified them being tortured by the Spanish Inquisition?

There are countless examples of unjustified mistreatment and man’s inhumanity to man.
