I never hear of the nutritional value of spices. I love spices and was curious, is there any nutritional value of spices? They grow similar to vegetables so I would think there would be. Or is it because you use such a small amount with dishes that the nutritional value is de minimus?
Here's a
list of spices and herbs and their nutrional information.
I think your last question answers it. Most of them don't add a lot of calories to dishes.
mac11, I think you forgot to post the link. There are a lot of spices that have beneficial effects on the system, but as for nutritional value, I think it is probably negligible.
wow this is great. A couple of my favorite spices, especially considering the small amount used are loaded with nutrition. a tbsp of chili powder has 278% of your daily Vit. A and 1 tbsp. of oregano has 14% iron and 39% vit. A.
Dang, how come I can't see the link?
