@Lola,
The pills are there now, thus there in the morning.

Me - I need to talk.

Part of the problem is is that I am talking with front office staff most of the time, and part of the problem is that I am a bit buffoon like, as I tend to hear them all as fuzz. I am getting clued in how stupid are the..

oh, never mind.

@ossobuco,
It's complicated, but I'm not as nice as I have been.

And, as most of you know, that brings out batwings.

@Ice Demon,
Katy is extremely keen on you if she advances her left paw. If she does, hold it.

@ossobuco,
I get both paws! First one, and then both together.

@roger,
That's true.
Katy is exultant to greet Roger, absolutely exultant.
He's ok with it too.

@ossobuco,
Waiting is always hard. I don't fully understand what the problem is with the new tablets - not a medication I'm familiar with - but I hope it all gets sorted out soon, and that they are effective in treating Katy.

Shame there is still puddling, but it's great that you see some improvement in her health generally. Hugs to Katy from the UK!

I've been putting off writing this ------ no, no, Katy is fine, or relatively fine -----
because it causes me tsuris or some word like that.

I learned last evening that the pills the compounder sent were light re the content, so she would have to take more than one each time, and I said fine.
But early this morning the veterinarian called me to say they are sending the pills back and the place is henceforth one day shipping the larger dose pills. I gather I would have had to give her ten a day, re the first batch.

I asked her re the drug, and have gradually remembered about it. It was a very popular drug back in my bacteriology years, the late sixties, but sent some humans into (I think it was) aplastic anemia, bad city, so it's been not commercial since whenever, though still effective. So, that's why the compounding - it was the drug that worked best on the culture and sensitivity test re a key bacterium, but Walgreens et cetera doesn't carry it. Gulp.

Meantime, Katy hasn't peed in the house since I last mentioned it. Maybe the hormone pills are helping bolster her own ability to combat. But, as we all know, she has gone three days at a time leak free and then flooded the kitchen, so I'll wait on relaxing.

@ossobuco,
Frustration city, but sure, we wouldn't want to have to work with 10 a day. So, more toe tapping while they get the next order filled. Hard to believe the one and only antibiotic that will work is so unavailable.

@roger,
Yeah, but I remember those c & s plates - there often were antibios that worked best, far more than the rest, sometimes fairly startling visually. (Actually, bacteriology is fun, I sort of miss it). I also remember (now... slowly, the drug. The 'side effect' wasn't widespread, but serious when it was, so it was taken out of circulation).

I've generally frowned on the recent spate of general kill everything in five days (my words) antibios, but I'm less grounded now in the talk and the data.

You're congealed or at least gelatinous, Ice. But I'm not believing the suggestion of empathy in your post. We are waiting politely to hear about the arrival of the new meds.

This is totally frustrating! I'm losing my patience and in admiration of those who seem so calm. Katy needs her antibiotics dammit.

@Lola,
I would be standing on my head if I thought she is in immediate trouble. Actually, I was standing on my head pre this last weekend, whence she got along ok. She's relatively better, compared to the worst times, but the infection is still there..

@ossobuco,
Not good at standing on my head. But I'm upside down in spirit. How I want this dawg to be better. And how I want you, osso, to be able to stop worrying.

@ossobuco,
I really hope all this frustration and delay will be followed by successful treatment once the new antibiotics are available to Katy. My fingers, toes, and eyes, are all crossed hoping for that, and I hope it happens soon.

The conundrum with meds is frustrating, I agree. While waiting, might as well entertain Katy. Katy would do well and appreciate activities to keep her stimulated. Contributing to the mindset for achievement is the survival mindset. Katy is a fighter, she will survive. I think what Katy needs to do, while waiting for the meds to arrive, is to spend some time with me grooving under a disco ball listening to Gloria Gaynor.

@ossobuco,
How is Katy now? You seem to be playing a waiting game all the time - waiting for her to pee, waiting for medication to work, waiting for medication to arrive - a lot of stress! But it will all be worth it when she is 100% recovered - you wait and see!

@vonny,
She's the same - one big house pee last night, rest of the time fine.
I'm finally baking the peanut butter dog cookies as we speak.
Grrrrr.
Sigh.
I'm certainly glad she isn't worse, give the antibio problem.
Meantime, she's out taking in some sunshine, 66 degrees here (19C ).
