How do I buy & pick a new video/graphics card?

I have bought two monitors (for work/AutoCAD, not gaming). My computer is about three years old, and has only one VGA connection. I'm guessing I need a new graphics card.
1. Is DVI superior to VGA? I'm assuming it is so the card must do two dvi.
2. My computer is a PC using XP pro, model# DG965RY_ Intel. Is this enough info to figure out the best card?
