The distributive term is a mathematical tool. The cartoon and the girl handing out money is something Ive never seen in any reviews of texts that Ive reviewed (And Ive done plenty)
I think what Spurt is missing is that he wishes to make this political skree nd the trm is purely math without anything about "distribution of wealth". If it were so, the textbook publishers would be sent comments from the customer.

But it really has been published since July 1, 2001! (And perhaps before, too [we had such cartoons here in my school book in 1960/1], but I can't look in earlier editions of that said US book.
