I'm surprised people didn't wander into this thread. It speaks volumes with just a few words: OUT OF TOUCH.

Bush had his campaign planned probably years ago, and they didn't update along the way, so now they appear to be bumbling and on the defensive. Those initial campaign ads that fell under attack were the base for ALL his campaign ads, no doubt, and the faulty assumption that people would buy it has caused Bush to have to scramble to rework his entire campaign, and at a late date too. The Bush Cabal really is out of touch in a lot of ways, and not just with the American electorate, but the entire planet as well. Spain exemplifies this perfectly. What can Bush say about his few allies now? One told him to bite it. The others are undoubtedly nervous now.

A domino effect is taking place when Bush thought he needed merely to show the images and make the pronouncements, and now he can't run fast enough to keep up with it all.

Faulty assumptions.
Overwheening pride.
Overreliance upon technology.

They caused the loss of Vietnam, the quagmire in Iraq and Afghanistan, and now the demise of the Bush administration.
