Things that Piss Me Off (That I can Do Nothing About)

I use a chain pharmacy, that has a very practical website. When a prescription is due for refill, they send you an eMail, which is very convenient.

For the last month, EVERY SINGLE DAY, I get an eMail about a non-existent prescription.
Each time the eMail states that the prescription is "in process" and will be available a couple of days later.

I called the main warehouse, and the clerk told me that indeed, there was no prescription having the number in the eMail, but they could not do anything about it. They transferred me to the local store, who agreed with the warehouse, but could not do anything to help.

There must be SOMEONE in that cockamamie organization who would know how to fix this, but I have no idea how to reach that person.

I was really pissed off about this, but then decided just to move the eMail to "trash".

Is there anything in your life that pisses you off, but that you are unable to change?

@Phoenix32890,
It should be easy for you to set up an email filter for this specific prescription to send it to the trash automatically.

Or is suggesting a solution in a frustration thread in poor taste.

@Phoenix32890,
I sent some baseball souvenirs (A signed Cal Ripken framed photograph) and a Yankees baseball signed by one of the 1990's World Series teams on May 30th. It never arrived to its destination in England.

I put in a complaint/request for an investigation about three weeks after sending it and possibly cash in on the $500 insurance. So I can send the money to the guy in England whom the objects belonged to.

Nothing came out of it. I tried a couple more times and came out with no response other then the USPS taking my information at the time of the call.

I found my receipt again and gave them a call last week. They're now informing me that they can't do anything since its past some arbitrary time when they can no longer track/investigate lost mail/failed deliveries.

The US Postal Service is abject failure institutionalized. Prior to this hideous experience, I always looked favorable to them and defended them against their critics. Now? I'm eagerly awaiting their budgetary collapse and (hopefully) eventual privatization.

@maxdancona,
Yeah, but if I did that, I would not get the eMails from the pharmacy that I want. But thanks for the idea anyway!

Don't get me started.

No, really I pretty accepting, but I'll think of some particularly annoying things and come back later.

Looking forward to hearing others vent.

@tsarstepan,
Yeah, that sucks. Did you send the items insured, and with a request for a return receipt? It does seem arbitrary though that the post office would not check the status after only three weeks.

I send anything important by certified mail, with a return receipt. I can then check the status of the package on the internet. If the package contains something breakable, I send by UPS. I have always had this vision of the USPS playing "package basketball" with the boxes.

@Phoenix32890,
Insured? Yes. It was insured upto $500 as it was sent Global Express (something like that). I should have had the return receipt added to the mix but thought the most expensive shipping delivery was enough.

I've sent many things to England before without a problem so being complacent was a problem here. I should have sent it Fed Ex or UPS but the guy receiving the box was paying for the shipment and he has the reputation for being cheap. The USPS option was the cheapest at $75. IT was a lose/lose for both parties.

I'll never give the USPS my business when it comes to major packages.

Have any of you folks ever dealt with Sirius XM? IMO, they have the worst billing department that I have ever encountered. Their customer service department is a close second. I stick with them because I love their light classical station.

I have been using their service for a number of years. Every time renewal comes up, a bill is sent for some outrageous amount, much more than the year before, including some ridiculous charges for who knows what. So..................I call the customer service, threaten to cancel. They send me to the "retention department", and we negotiate a reasonable price .

This happened again this year. I called customer service, and found somehow that there was a "special", which was satisfactory. (half off). I told then that as soon as I got the new bill I would pay. I got the bill yesterday. It was the agreed to price, but it only listed one car, while our agreement was for the negotiated price for both our cars. In the meantime, Mr. P. is threatening to cancel the whole shootin' match, which is aggravating me no end. This happens every year.

I called again. The customer service person assured me that their records stated both cars, but that was after being put on "hold" for a number of times. I told him that I wanted the new bill in hand before I would pay. Stay tuned.................................

@Phoenix32890,
And Sirius wonders why they're no longer considered the radio of the future. With this service, they're never going to compete with Spotify, Pandora, or any other online radio services that can get piped to cars these days. These services are getting better as broadband wireless services are getting faster and cheaper.

Their merger with XM simply delayed the inevitable bankruptcy I suppose.

I like both Pandora's and Stitcher's classical music stations. I should see if Spotify has a decent classical radio station as well.

@Phoenix32890,
Again I apologize for trying to be helpful in a "things that piss me off" thread.

But you can set up an specific email filter that will only filter out the email for the one prescription you are having problems with. In the email there is a notice of the prescription number. It says something like "Prescription: #A123456".

You can set up a filter to say. If the email is from so-and-so pharmacy AND it contains the phrase "Prescription: #A123456" then move it to the trash. This is a safe way to get emails from the pharmacy that are about any other prescription.

Caption The Cartoon thread.

Brilliant cartoon.....captions popping up in my head left right and centre... on a roll and thoroughly immersed, then

"....Flood Control. You may not post on this thread for another 14 minutes... blah blah etc...."

BUGGER!

Mood gone. Inspiration withered and last seen sobbing somewhere near the frontal lobe. Anger rising....

Being British, the administrators of this site can now expect a polite letter of complaint, after I have had a cup of sweet tea.
