In Germany these water tinting things are not very popular anymore since they are supposed to be polluting the environment. Which makes sense to me if you think about it. You flush this stuff down the toilet every time you use it (the toilet). Do you really need to disinfect your toilet each and every time you used it? I doubt it.
As to the animals - our cat Nisse likes to look at the water going down so I flush the toilet from time to time just to let him try and catch some water drops. His sister Mysan thinks that this is pretty stupid... :-)

To tell you the truth I think it's just another gimmic, another way to succor people in to spending money.
If you clean your toilet often you don't need colored water.

if i had a consistant water source i'd try these blue thingies.
do you suppose the blue mens group stick their heads in a toilet before a performance?
