Paints these days are high in toxicity. They have Volatile Organic Compounds that are harmful to the environment as well as human health. So how do we know what paint is safe. Which paints are low in toxicity.

most waterbased, or alkyds. Some of the acrylics have some VOCs too, you can ften smell em

Alexis1, There are low VOC paints that you can purchase. Just type in low VOC paints in search engine. It's quite a toxic world now and trying to be free of it is a full time job, but best wishes. To be specific, Glidden has a low VOC paint. I used it years ago with no problem and no smell.
