Wall painting

Hello. I have some questions to you.
I'm leaving my parents with my future bride for a new apartment. There is still necessary to do the repair. In my parents' house, I have my own room and I painted it with acrylic paints (photo at the bot.).
Parents used paint to cover the walls, so, no wallpaper there. But I was uncomfortable to paint on it.
Question - advise good paint for interior walls of the same light beige hue, only suitable for further acrylic painting.
I will also be grateful for the advice on applying this paint to the wall - what to use, roller, spray or something else?
Thank you all in advance.

@alastorginn,
What is your question?

Do you want to cover the artwork? Just sand the artwork and re-paint with any commercial wall paint.

(Very pretty, BTW)

@PUNKEY,
No, I need to paint walls in the new apartment. And I need a good paint which would be convenient to cover with art then.
(Thank you, I like to paint))
