@ehBeth,
A guy can't have too many birthdays. I hope this is a good one.

I second that. I hope you have a good birthday Setanta.
May you glean every drop of knowledge there is to be had from the fruits of wisdom in the coming year!
PS. If you are more of a fount of knowledge kind of guy, well, that you may take many a bath in one then.
Thank you, friends, for your kind remarks.
For me, memory is a sort of a curse. When I read something, and recall it later, I actually see the page in my head. Often, when doing papers in university, I would be at the library with books piled on a table, and I could pick up a volume, open it very near the page I wanted, and would know if it were on the right-hand or left-hand page, at the top, in the middle or at the bottom of the page. Also, if I get incorrect information, it is a real struggle to get it out of my head, and replace it with accurate information. I'm not really complaining, but sometimes I wish I could leave my memory by the side of the road. I vividly remember the day after John Kennedy was shot--I can see the television image of Jack Ruby shooting Lee Harvey Oswald, I can hear the cop saying "Jack . . . no!" I have an almost perfect memory of the television coverage of Bobby Kennedy when he was shot after the California primary (I was home alone, and so stayed up as late as I wanted).
Whether or not wisdom is involved, my life has been dominated by eidetic memory since at least between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. on the morning of November 2, 1954--which I remember vividly. I was shocked to learn, at university, that not everyone has such memories.
@Setanta,
I'll add a lie as well: happy birthday, Set!

@Setanta,
1) Happy birthday (a day late, sorry)!
and
2) Ever hear of Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory? It is a real thing. Check out interviews with the people who have it (on YouTube). Of all people, actress Marilu Henner is one. It's fascinating.
And happy birthday again.
Not another flippin' birthday!
Didn't you just have one? You must be ageing faster than the rest of us! All these celebrations(mumble, mummmmm...)

Because I can't! And you can't, either!
