Well....what do YOU think?
I'm kinda suprised that this thread has not popped up yet....
For Prez
I guess it hasn't popped up because ignoring it is all that we can do. I hate the sneaky-ass way he's getting around to it but it's really no surprise. You knew he had his eye on the white house when he ran for governor. Shoot. He had his eye on the white house when he married Maria Shriver.
Personally, I don't trust him any farther than I can pick him up and throw him and can't imagine anything worse, short of Bush winning again.
Like him as an actor. Distrust him as a politician.
Don't believe he can because he was not born here.
The President and Vice-Pres, must be "natural-born" citizens, meaning born in the US or of parents who are citizens.
That's the law. Being foreign-born, he cannot be elected for president. But Orrin Hatch has proposed a constitutional amendment to turn that law over. Doesn't it make you wonder what Arnold may have promised him? The fountain of youth maybe?
He won't run. He can't be that delusional.
I wondered the same thing myself eoe.
Talk about having an agenda (not so well hidden either)
I believe he wants the presidency very badly. I don't believe, though, that there will be enough support to open up the constitution to change it. I have never cared for the man - never went to a movie to see him, never bought any DVDs of his.
I'm still shocked by the fact that hasta-la-vista-baby Arnold Schwarzenegger is the governor of the world fifth economy (California). Making him president would be a big American suicide. Face it, I have met people smarter then him..a lot of people...
Perhaps this is the "promise he was kingdomed?"
(See "Conan the Destroyer.")
Seven years
That the usual time frame for an amendment to actually pass. A lot of events can occur in that time frame. Does Congress have any other pressing matters to attend to?
Is it me or is there nobody who is actually interested in Arnie these days?
I believe Californians are interested in him.
Good point. And here on A2K?

You know, funny thing happened: my mom (in California) used to yap about politics all the time. Since Arnie -- not so much. Probably more to do with the busted septic and the garden, though.
Why did Ah-nold bust her septic and garden?
Excuse me, I read comma where there is none.
The Constitution requires that the president be a "natural born Citizen." Has anyone checked to see if Arnold was born naturally? After all, it could be that the only thing keeping him from becoming president is the fact that he was born unnaturally, or even supernaturally. Kinda' like MacDuff in "Hamlet."
