@farmerman,
Yah, I don't tote a wallet either. Keep my driver's lic. and a cupple of pieces of plastic in a shirt or jacket pocket, cash in pants pocket. Idon't wear a medal, Saint Kit or anyone else, but I do wear what is known as a maka'u lei, a fish-hook carved from bone, suspended on a cord around the neck just like a necklace or lei. I can hook an ID over that.

Can't think of anything to say other than the usual platitudes. Get better soon, and don't think you're fooling anyone, this is just an excuse to flirt with some pretty nurses.

@Lustig Andrei,
Andrew: hang in there. I wish for you a speedy recovery and return to normalcy. Once they stabilitze and iron out dosage of meds, here's to your happy/happier existence.

I sure can empathize, being an arrhythmia dude myself. I'm also a recipient of a defib-pacemaker and am a member of a family of heart issues/arrhythmia dudes and dudettes.

@Izzie,
Thanx, Iz. I still remember how you figuratively 'held my hand' when I was in for surgery back there in 2008.

Have met the cardiologist, a very nice confidence-inspiring Japanese-American gentleman who would remind me of C.I. if he only were not so tall. He's already making noises about the prossibility of angioplasty which would involve travel to Honolulu because they don't do that procedure locally here. My finances are a shambles right now and I have no idea how to pay air-fare to Honolulu unless some social service agency can declare me insolvent and indigent (insane is already on record) and provide for a medivac helicopter to fly me over and back.

I know you were hoping we'd all forgotten about this so you wouldn't be nagged.

Sooooo, what's the status? Are you getting fixed up? Are you seeking whatever help from the state of Hawaii you can receive to travel to the place that will fix you up?

@Butrflynet,
Thank you so much for your continuing concern, Butrflynet. Yer right -- I was hoping this thread was lost in cyberspace somewhere. But, anyway, I have another appointment with the cardiologist scheduled for this Friday. Won't know anything until then. The meds all seem to be working fairly well. I don't know what most of them are for, but I take 'em just as the directions say. Now, as long as I don't try to act as though I were still, say, 53 or 54 years of age, I'm doing right fine. No symptoms of anything amiss. I do carry a vial of nitroglycerine with me and have been known to pop a pill if I suddenly feel I'm completely out of breath for no discernible reason, but that's rare. Most of the time I feel fine, thank you for asking.

@Lustig Andrei,
I'm glad to hear things are improving. Still might be a good idea to check into how you would go about getting financial assistance for transportation arrangements just in case. Never know when that info will come in handy when living on one of the puddle-jumper islands.

@Lustig Andrei,
so youre taking coumadin or some other thinner, right? and sounds like you have some other med to work on you. I have a supply of BP meds that have been behind my AT fib. The thing you wanna watch is that your BP numbers dont get too close as the BP is regulated downward.

@farmerman,
Thanks, all of you, for your concern.

Farmer, I take warfarin [generic for Coumadin] but they cut my dosage way back. It was, like, five mgs daily; after the second visit to the hospital they gave me a new prescription for a 2 mg (or maybe its only 1.5 mg) tablet. My blood was getting so damn thin I was getting bruises on my arms and legs, unaware that I had even bumped into anything. Anyhoo, all things considered, I'm OK.

Just came from a visit with my cardiologist. I must be doing OK because he doesn't want to see me for another two months. Took some blood, will test it. Me, I just hang in there.

@Lustig Andrei,
That's great news. Did he take you off of the Coumadin?
