@tsarstepan,
I know disgusting. Here I am trying like h*ll to keep myself healthy. Washing my hands after getting off that germ invested train. Making sure until I get to wash I don't touch anything on my face or otherwise. Eating well, etc. And some sick idiot without a thought.

I would have hit him other than I didn't want more germs on my body.

I know the subway stinks, but at least the officers are pretty cool.....

MBTA officer pulls subway jumper back from the brink
“I said to him, ‘Step back, you’re going to get hurt,’ ” said Conway, 47. “But from the way he was acting, I knew this wasn’t your average disturbance.”

Once the man, who was in his 40s, spotted Conway, he took another swig from the bottle and attempted to jump down onto the tracks.

Conway grabbed the man’s wrist and swung him to the ground, holding him down. That probably saved the man’s life, police said.

When I was growing up in Arizona,
I felt homesick for NY, including its subway.

I don t have bad memories of the subways.
Even with multiple cars, I very ofen took the subways, by day and by night.

The subway is not the problem in this case, the problem is that the state (in this case primarily their agents the police) have no concern for the negative impact they cause the citizens. I have talked here before about a case where the cops shut down a busy interstate in a city during rush hour for 5 hours to find all of the shell casings in a two car shoot out...when they knew exactly who was doing the shooting because they already had them in custody. They said that they needed this information for their court case.

This kind of thing did not happen till about 20 years ago. Once upon a time our time was valued, our quality of life was valued. Now the state wants what the state wants and we had better not get in their way, or complain.

Hey! Wait a minute. As far as I know, it is prohibited eating and drinking in buses and subway trains...

How it comes authorities didn't call the attention to this hero?

@tsarstepan,
I am guilty of one -- the sick one - but I did like the author of the article - I ran out and nicely got sick in the trash barrell - this happened here in Boston when I came down with a stomach bug that hit real quick.

And once in London on vacation. Even though I felt sick that morning damn I wasn't going to miss one second of vacation lying in bed ill.
