@chai2,
Cold weather clothing isn't necessarily restrictive. There are some great new fibres out there that are light-weight but extraordinarily comfortable - and silk is still the best in cold weather (in the right knit).

I need to be fairly cool/cold to sleep at all. I used to work at a company where the president thought the boardroom should be kept cold to keep people awake - others were freezing while I was so comfy I had trouble staying awake.

@ehBeth,
It just feels restrictive to me - to be covered up. For example, I will be walking around the house saying I am freezing so hubby says go put on a sweater, sweatshirt whatever - but I don't like anything on - I can do a blanket over me but don't like to cover up no matter how comfty.

@ehBeth,
In our Phoenix summers we sleep with the A/C set at 68 with a juicy comforter. Sleep like a log, except to get up and pee about two or three times--but I fall immediately back to sleep afterwards. Can't imagine sleeping in hot temperature (well maybe in a hammock outside).

This is not a frivolous question. There can be serious consequences to "thermal incompatibility". It's not who controls the remote, but the thermostat that can cause friction in a marriage or in the workplace, and we know that friction generates heat which ,strangely enough may turn into a cold shoulder.

A comforter in 68 degrees! I'm more convinced than I was before that at least some of our temperature preferences are genetic.

I don't consider 32 degrees to be all that cold. It takes more than freezing for me to wear a hat. Maybe in the teens. I will wear earmuffs and gloves in the twenties.

I languish in the heat.

I like a ceiling fan and high A/C setting.

I was born and raising in Southern CA. We use to go skiing in Big Bear or Lake Tahoe, cold isn’t for me.

That’s one of the reasons I chose Florida when I decided to move. Winter is coming and it will get down to the 50’s, I’ll be staying inside!
