On this day in 2002, Vice President Dick Cheney, speaking at a veterans of wars convention, warned the United States could face devastating consequences from any delay in acting to remove Saddam Hussein as president of Iraq. With no actual proof Cheneys big lie brought about the Iraq invasion, and started a long term occupation that killed thousands of US troops and drove millions of Iraqi families from their homes.
Cheney should have been tried for treason, pay for his monstrous crime, but his party and the media chose to protect him.

What we think, or what we know, or what we believe is, in the end, of little consequence. The only consequence is WHAT WE DO.

Probably other crimes we don't know about, and never will.
