I think we too should celebrate our thanksgiving to the divine and all merciful Providence in our divesting ourselves of the colonies on the eastern seaboard of America.

Iced melon. Dover sole. Pasture grazed Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with roast potatoes, two veg and gravy. Sherry trifle. Mature Cheddar with cream crackers. Six pints of Woodford Wherry or Suffolk Old Gold or Old Rosie's Cloudy. Nibbles optional.

I've run through the list and am not sure which team I'm choosing on a couple of games - and one of those is Houston-Detroit. Will put off deciding for another day.

Best turkey I ever cooked was one of these (spatchcocked; easy and half the time, cooked more evenly, than the usual way of roasting):

Psst..Tipster says: Houston looks good. Detroit wants to give games away too badly to bank on them. Houston's Defense fell asleep during their game with Jax, though. Mebbe they got that out of their system.

A thousand years ago when I was a keen candystriper, gall bladder operations were good for a week in hospital and then a few weeks of rest.

They barely gave you time to have a popsicle!
