Maybe the Saints will win if I don't pick them.

I don't think it will make any difference to the result which team you pick JP. If it did we could all clean up. This thread would be the biggest thing on the Internet and all the bookies would light out for the hills.

@JPB,
You really do think that the Fates have it in for little 'ol you don't you?

Surely you could sell your services to New Orleans?

@spendius,
But, of course!

I turned to the game just as the Saints scored their final pts of the game going up 24-6. They went on to give up 21 unanswered pts to lose 27-24 in OT.

@JPB,
The Fates, and what taskmistresses eh?, probably just wanted to keep you in suspense and then drop you with a thud.

PS. If suspense is not suspence why is defence defense?

At least a fine. I wouldn't be surprised if the league office suspends him.
no suspension, just a $50,000 fine for "impermissible physical contact with an official."

@Region Philbis,
Impermissible physical contact . . .
I once got kicked out of a CYO dance for that.

I heard that yesterday's media coverage on the Monday night ref controversy far exceeded the media coverage on President Obama's speech to the United Nations.

@wandeljw,
That's nothing wande. A maths teacher eloping to France with a froward 15 year old student wiped out Syria and the financial crisis here.

Everybody knows what Mr Obama is going to say before he opens up.

AndyD offers his choices for week 4: Balt, Hou, NE, Minn, Atl, Sea, NYJ, KC, Den, Az, Cin, GB, Wash, NYG and Dal (14-10).
I have no problem with players posting their picks out of order or changing their selections. What I dislike is having to nag as deadlines approach. I'm left to wonder if they simply forgot to post or if they secretly have lost interest in the game.
I'm missing seven players, by the way. I'm not nagging mind you...

@realjohnboy,
I'll be posting all my picks soon...tonight or tomorrow morn, at latest. Someone has to shore up the bottom of the list. Rolling Eyes

In the meanwhile, I've made this pick:

Thur. Night Game, SEP 27
Cleve at Balt

And Rhys dropped off his picks along with his rambling, but humorous, rationale for each choice. His "clarification" for never choosing the Jets or Giants probably qualifies him for a career in politics: lots of words without saying much.
He chooses Balt, Hou, NE, Minn, Atl, Sea, SF, SD, Den, Az, Cin, GB, Wash, Phil, Chi (17-13).

Referee Lockout Coming To An End

So long, replacement refs. The NFL's regular crews will be back on the field starting
Thursday night.

After two days of marathon negotiations -- and mounting frustration among coaches,
players and fans -- the NFL and the referees' union announced at midnight ET Thursday
that a tentative agreement had been reached to end a lockout that began in June.

Commissioner Roger Goodell, who was at the bargaining table Tuesday and Wednesday,
said the regular officials would work the Browns-Ravens game in Baltimore.
