@judylynn,
We're about to head out for dinner, I'll blow it up in photoshop tonight when we get home and look into it. Thanks for posting the photo!
@judylynn,
You sure have a tough one. I haven’t found anything that comes close. Here is the photo, full photo and signature but I’ve wrecked my brain trying to find the artist! Maybe someone might recognize the sketch or signature from one of these photos.
@jcboy,
Much thanks! I have researched this many times over.There are many Ishmaels in many genres. glad to know I am not the only one stumped.
@judylynn,
You never know who might find this thread on google just from the tags so check back every now and then! And good luck!
@judylynn,
i have it... mine is dated 76'
@judylynn,
I got mine from a very cool guitar player who lived until 1980. I inherited this print dated 1976. There is a possibility Phil new him... he may have lived in the Encinitas Solana Beach area of San Diego county.... it is a very 'deep' interpretation of a Carlos Casteneda type of mescaline Peyote high... I have experienced much of what that artist portrayed in his vision.... I would love to find more of his work... I know an old hippie who owns a cool store in Cardiff by the Sea... if there is ANYONE... in this world who could tell us more about R Ishmael it is him...The Good Morning Store he has been there 35 years.... he is on facebook too... if you contact him...tell him that 'Pisces' sent you....
I have two mint condition, signed/numbered, limited editions of these prints. Dated 1976 in the signature fields. They've been rolled up in a tube for all these years, and as I say... totally mint condition. I think I'm going to get them mounted and framed soon, can anyone here tell me if they are worth anything? Btw, I just sent an email to Judylynn/Pisces's link to the Good Morning store in San Diego, will let you all know what he says.
I have “Indian Dancer:Peyote Visions” 20/2000 and several other prints by this artist.
Could this actually be Rick Griffin’s work? As R. “Ishmael” G.
