RAW or SmackDown??

we're talking pro wrestling here. one company (WWE) split into 2 separate rosters, with little or no cross-over between the two.

which show is better?

I won't vote, but perhaps you can answer a question for me, Region. I do watch these shows sometimes, because they are compelling, but it seems like there's relatively little wrestling and a whole lot of boasting and taunting. Two or more guys stare at each other and make threats. Then one says something crude about another person, which, of course, is the cue for that guy to materialize and join the fun. More boasts and taunts ensue.

Seems like they mostly hype an upcoming pay-per-view event.

i've found that its basically a soap opera, in tights. the actual wrestling is almost an afterthought.

btw, you certainly have the right not to vote Smile

Well, I only didn't vote because I haven't watched them enough to make an intelligent choice.

I like the soap opera in tights idea. Makes sense. Are the pay-per-view shows similarly skewed toward boasting and taunting vs. wrassling?

not sure about the other 11 PPV's, because i only get the wrestlemanias, but they do seem to give the viewer their $$'s worth on them. they can show more flesh & blood since they're not limited to basic cable standards.

incidentally, i wasn't sure if this topic belonged in S+F or TV. i decided to post it here because rasslin' is listed as a "sport" on my cable system...

If baseball players continue to "juice up" it will be hard to tell the two apart. Wrestling will have to be considered a sport!

I know a few of the wrestlers and I still don't watch it, UFC and PRIDE is where it's at REAL combat.
