I'm testing a very minor theory . . .

(No actual babies were eaten in the production of this thread.)

In that anxious period between the Stamp Act crisis (1765) and the beginning of the Revolution, when Americans would complain that they weren't represented in Parliament, the Limeys told them they were "virtually" represented.

@Rockhead,
At least virtually . . . there are those who would argue that the abuses and usurpations are not ended . . .

@Setanta,
I just read a cool thing about representation in Australia - you've got to vote if you're in the Territories, but your representative apparently can't vote (or couldn't when Bryson wrote the Sunburned Country book).

Quote:
The original constitution of Australia did in fact prohibit territory politicians from casting votes and asking questions in the Federal parliment, it also did not allow the territories to vote in senators.

That all changed in 1968, when the territories federal politicians were given full voting rights. It was not until the mid 70's when territorians were also given the right to vote in federal senators.

@Setanta,
Happy 4th of July, you.

Shove a few firecrackers up your ass for me.

Wow it feels good to take the bait, and be a square, cause it is hip to be a square.

@Setanta,
A Modest proposal reminds me of the movie, promoting sleep with me and I'll give you a Million Dollars..... That's a bit generous , above modest.

How about feeding all the babies........................... donations, adoptions, donations, adoptions. Maybe the production would grow 10 fold....

This thread has nothing to do with babies. The theory was tested, the results were not what i expected. It's over now, you can go home.

@FOUND SOUL,
Well, if you think you're "reading" anything other than what has been written, i suggest the answer to your "why" is that you have deluded yourself.

Seven of my great grandparents were Irish, one was Scots. I don't know what you're referring to.
