@Foofie,

In the United States of America, "race" has been reserved for people whose ancestors came from a specific continent, not one country, such as Germany.

As I mentioned, Foofie, you might want to consider the facts. Actually, that very issue has come up in other threads. Yes, words can have different meanings.

@JTT,
It helps to actually know fact before you can consider them. On another thread, Foofie wrote about how the notorious "red and tans," used to burst into sleepy Irish villages at the dead of night to pressgang agricultural labourers into the British Navy.

He must have sat right at the back of the class, possibly in a different building altogether.

What facts? Race is not a synonym for a nationality. If anyone chooses to think it is, the individual is using an archaic definition.

"Yitzhak Shamir was a brave warrior for Israel, before and after its inception. He was a great patriot and his enormous contribution will be forever etched in our chronicles," President Shimon Peres said in a statement obtained by YNet news of Israel.

"Yitzhak Shamir belongs to a generation of giants, who founded the State of Israel and fought for the freedom of the Jewish people in its land," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said. "He led Israel with deep loyalty to both the people and the land."

It is amazing how some people seem so heroic to their own people.

I bet you can find many nice things said about Osama Bin laden from his own country men.
