What the hell is it about 2016? Celebs are dropping like wealthy, self-absorbed flies.

What disturbs me most, way too many of them are my age.

I liked Shandling. Haven't seen him in years.

@jespah,
I don't know anything about him. Rest in Peace to all of us, though.

The trouble with being near seventy or over it is complex:

- you are losing your marbles
- you fear losing your marbles
- your relatives worry about your losing your marbles
- your relatives hope you lose your marbles

My problem is that, as a child, I had a bag of marbles (this was in New York that one year) and didn't know what to do with them.

@edgarblythe,
I hear 'ya there. As you know, I'm not far behind you, either.

Sadly, I read today that Willie Nelson is pretty ill with chronic emphysema/ (often suffers repeated bouts with pneumonia) and is not making appearances currently to my knowledge. Not that I would wish it or wish him bad things in any way but I wouldn't be shocked to see him on the list soon. He's dodged a bullet for decades with his breathing illnesses.

I love his persona, his music and his spirit. May he continue on but in much better health than he's been experiencing.

@edgarblythe,
Jesus Christ, man. I saw a pic snapped of David Letterman on vacation, and he was completely unrecognizable.

People are just getting old. I think I'm spoiled because The Stones, Aerosmith etc just kept showing up. They seem immortal.

@Lash,
Speaking of the Stones, Keith Richards...defies all odds. he always looked old even when he was young.

@Ragman,
No medical or logical explanation for Keith. I've read that he's had a couple of complete transfusions to clear out the damage he's done, but that could be urban legend... Wink

@Lash,
Keith Richards Found Not Dead in San Francisco Hotel

“With a very heavy heart, I am sad to announce that sometime early this morning, Rolling Stones guitarist, Keith Richards was found still alive.” said Ms. D’lune choking back tears, “He was found in his suite, sitting in a chair, watching Jamie Oliver reruns on the tele.

Emergency personnel were summoned and exhaustive attempts were made to revive him, but since Mr. Richards was not dead, that was deemed unnecessary.”

@farmerman,
I am not sure where Shandling did his last work. I am guessing he did cable shows.

@edgarblythe,
He was a part of the Marvel movie franchise, playing a Senator (I believe) who's a bad guy.

@jespah,
That's how I missed him. I watched the Marvel film with the Silver Surfer in it and was disappointed. It's the only one I have watched, so far.

I really dug Shandling's unique humor. I Can't think of anyone else who did it the same way. I'll miss him.
