Yep; it's true. My old flag has got so dilapidated I had to replace it. I've scheduled a burning for this evening.
Will I be able to see the smoke from here? Or just hear the sirens go by?

Good for you. I'm really tired of the barely recognizable flag tatters flapping away on the car antennas around here.
Mine don't fly on the car.
