Got this question that i cant seem to find anywhere. Let me know what the answer is.

I believe the answer is no! Equal recognition still does not apply for federal tax purposes.

If both people work and make decent money, marriage in general causes you to pay more taxes. It's called the marriage penalty. That would apply to any marriage. If one person stays home then you get a benefit.

Single people pay higher taxes though.

Two single working people do, yes. One working person with a stay at home spouse pays less than those two independently though since the stay at home spouse confers all his benefits to his partner.
