My husband is 30 years old and has loose stools/diarrhea for about 7 years, he was diagnosed with diverticulitis 3 years ago, medication has not helped. He also has had a sore throat that comes and goes and lasts for long periods of time ,different Doctors have said different things such as his throat is irritated because of the dry weather conditions to it being bothered by his smoking. He also spits up blood (very red, very little saliva), he doesnt cough it up he says that he feels the need to spit and thats what comes out this happens a few times a week.
We have not had any luck with Doctors and he continues to get sicker. We have always thought of all of these symptoms as seperate things but after looking and looking for a cause something came up and that is Systemic Yeast Infection, does anyone know about this?he has so many of the symptoms (more than I have listed here)..
If any of you can give us any advice or input it would be greatly appreciated, he is going back to the Doctors this week.
Thank you all for your time

Try an allergy diet or an elimination diet. Either way, you start by eating the most basic non-allergenic foods, mostly raw. Then you add foods one at a time, slowly, like introducing foods to a baby. There are a ton of books and sites you can read about this method. It isn't easy and it;s not fast, but you'll see if certain food or additives are causing problems. At the very least, he'll be eating healthy and it could solve some of his problems.

@lovelife2011,
First of all, have him quit smoking. And have him quit any illegal narcotics that he's doing as well. Then find a better Doctor. Good luck.

@lovelife2011,
I recommend talking to a Gastroenterologist and mentioning if it could be an Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's Syndrome, Diverticulitis Colitis).
You also need to take into consideration the effects of smoking on lungs and esophagus.
An Inflammatory Bowel Disease might affect the whole digestive system, but it might just be two different diseases found together.
Not to forget, that it might just be an Infectious Disease of some sort. That's why you probably will need to see a few Specialists (Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases, Hematology, ENT) - talk it out with your Physician.
Hope you find out what it is and that your husband will get better!

@lovelife2011,
If you're thinking that it may be a systemic yeast infection then eliminate all sugars (processed and natural) and see if it helps. I agree with Ceili that a total elimination diet is the best approach but sugar elimination (that includes grains) are a good first step.

As in the post all symptom's are relate towards stomach problem. There is need to have a full checkup and then it may be treated. So go through the dieana it may help you to get out of this.
