Don't get me wrong. They're nice to me to my face, but I try too hard to fit in and it kinda rubs them the wrong way. I prolly come across as too intrusive when I join their conversations in the break room, as to seem like butting in. At least that's what they complained to our supervisor about. They been here awhile and has formed a tight knit clique, which I hadn't realized. Plus, as the 2nd youngest (I'm 23) I'm prolly also the least mature. They resent me talking in texts and slangs. For instance, when I tell people I'll be back, I go, "brb." I guess older ppl don't text too much.
Recently, I worried about my schedule and I started asking a few coworker about theirs and they were tired of it. If they had all these issues with me, why didn't they say it to my face? And how can I get them to be more accepting of me?
@Angel23,
U can try to get a sense of how thay want u to act
and try to act that way, if u wanna.
U can also maybe put them in your debt
by doing them favors of things that thay
REALLY like
(
not just things that u think thay
shud like, but thay don 't).
@OmSigDAVID,
Well I don't really wanna bribe anyone, so I guess first option lol.
@Angel23,
Do you still have someone from VR to meet with? this really is something you should be checking with someone who has real life experience with how you interact with others.
@ehBeth,
Yeah she shud be here now but I dn't see her right now. Idk what happened.
@Angel23,
If most of your coworkers are older, try to use a language they can understand. You can't expect them get slangs like BRB or LOL.
And perhaps you need to have a talk with your supervisor about it, so he or she can help you cope with such a dilemma. Good luck!

A bribe is paying someone to something
BAD.
If u do someone a favor, that 's
not the same thing.
