Easter is near; religious or not, are you doing stuff for it?

Eggs, hot cross buns, the works.

The Easter Bunny visits and leaves little eggs all over the shop.

The name Easter comes from the name of the Pagan goddess Eostre.

Ensure was associated with the moon, and she became concerned that her followers would become frightened when the moon waned and disappeared. They might think that she had deserted them do she sent her messenger the hare to put their minds at rest.

The hare was to say that she was just off doing moon goddess **** and would be back shortly and not to worry. The hare did the opposite, told the people the goddess had deserted them, and they were to go totally mental.

When the goddess saw what had transpired she was none to pleased. The hare wax punished, he lost his long, luxurious tail. The goddess then turned into a beautiful bird who laid eggs to give to all the children.

What a lovely heartwarming story that is, and not at all yucky.

I miss those days where we colored Easter eggs and made a huge mess doing so. Then preparing the basket with chocolate eggs and bunnies - I had to hide it in higher places so the dog wouldn't get to it. My kid is an adult now and more interested in the Easter meal.

Last year I had lamb chops and for the first time ever a big chunk of ham, since some of my guests didn't eat lamb. Lots of cooking, lots of food. This year it will be lamb chops again, but no ham.........and of course Easter candy for dessert.

I hope somebody will give me chocolate... though I always find it too sweet.
