You already figured out how to start a thread. That's basically the run of things here. Starting threads, asking questions, seeing other questions and discussions and joining in on them with relevant answer, quirky jokes, and useless observations depending on your mood and the necessity to straighten out the people who are already involved in said threads.

Though there are philosophy threads here which you may engage in, if you so choose.
There are also lots of other subjects & interests explored here, too.
