@roger,
Bork Obunga is about fear and envy, not "Hope and Change(TM)".

Somebody you don't really know anything about is sitting there pounding your head into the pavement and you're gonna "warn" them before you do something about it???

If that something is as irreversible as causing their death, yes. Especially considering that the warning is just as likely to result in them getting off of you as shooting them is. How do you argue on one hand that it's wrong to punch someone (you don't know anything about who is following you with something in his hand) without warning and on the other that it's perfectly reasonable, smart even, to shoot someone without warning in a fist fight?

All of this, once again, assumes that the person with the most to gain by lying is telling the truth about what happened. And you call me stupid.

Meanwhile, the prosecutor has announced they will bring charges of some sort.

APNewsBreak: Murder charge in Trayvon Martin case
(By BRENDAN FARRINGTON, Associated Press, Minutes Ago)

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A law enforcement official says that the killer in the Trayvon Martin case will be charged with second-degree murder and is in custody.

The official with knowledge of the case says that the charge against George Zimmerman will be announced at a news conference at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The official says he's in custody in Florida but wouldn't say where. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to disclose the information.

An arrest had been delayed because of Florida's so-called stand your ground law, which gives people wide latitude to claim self-defense in a killing and other altercations.

The lack of an arrest had sparked outrage and rallies for justice in the Orlando suburb and across the country.

@FreeDuck,
What about WW-II in the Pacific? Should we have warned the Japanese what was likely to happen to them AFTER Pearl Harbor and before taking any action??

@wandeljw,
No doubt they are arguing that he acted with recless disreguard for life by being armed while on nieborhood watch.....if so the NRA will be all over this case. Weither Zimmerman has the stones to take the state on by going to trial is doubtful however.

@hawkeye10,
No doubt, they understand that the Stand Your Ground law does not protect someone who initiates a confrontation.

If Zimmerman is not shielded by the Stand Your Ground law (which he should not be), then he has a responsibility to retreat in the face of a threat, and can claim that the shooting was self defense only if he is cornered and unable to retreat.

Zimmerman has been charged with 2nd degree murder.

No objection.

Let the legal circus begin!

Actually we DID warn them. We declared war on them.

@wandeljw,
The news has confirmed that as of 90 mins ago, he is in custody at FL's Seminole County courthouse. He's behind bars chraged with 2nd Degree Murder. The DA feels they now have enough evidence to convict Zimmerman.

Some of the way this whole thing is unfolding is real interesting...
The very tough, very sharp-seeming prosecutor is a Republican. No insinuation on my part - its just one of the interesting turns in the story...

@snood,
Such is the case with many (lawyers and pols) of such positions of power here. Republicans have control of the FL legislature and legal processes.

The real question seems to be, now that they have a lynch mob under their belts, what does the dynamic duo of Bork Obunga and Eric Holder have in store for our amusement next? Are they gonna play in XXX movies or start appearing as a tag team in the WWF, or what exactly?

What about our feral media which spends countless hours looking for footage of tea party members spitting on the sidewalk and then ignores the new blackpanthers putting out dead-or-alive warrants and bounty money on American citizens who have not been declared outlaws by any sort of tribunal? Or Eric Holder's rogue justice department for that matter...

@boomerang,
We have to all hang in there. Let us hope that this case won't follow a similar patten as that recent other FL high profile Anthony (murder of her child) case. I don't expect that it will but I pray that it doesn't.

@boomerang,
I don't think so boomer.

The best way for a prosecutor to cover their ass is to have a grand jury. This special prosecutor made the decision. She took responsibility and was straightforward and direct. She seems like a "buck stops here" person to me.

I bet she is is going by the book.

I'm certainly not the "wide-eyed optimist" about our criminal justice system, but this lady prosecutor strikes me as a real no-nonsense type, too.

You got it. I mean, when you have the POTUS and his AG joining lynch mobs, cover-your-own-ass is about all that's left...
