Quote:

.....The evidence is mounting that not only do we have more than a century's worth of recoverable oil in the United States alone (even if there is a limit to the earth's oil supply), but that we also actually have a limitless supply of Texas tea because oil is in fact a renewable resource that is being constantly created deep under the earth's surface and which rises upward, where microscopic organisms that thrive in the intense pressure and heat miles below us interact with and alter it.
In other words, we have an unending supply of oil, some of which is constantly migrating upward from the depths at which it is created to refill existing oil deposits, and much more of which remains far below the surface. This oil can be recovered using existing technology......

@gungasnake,
If it were true; that would be one question, and whether the environment can be recovered from Global Warming is another question altogether...Before anyone can use any sort of energy available, there has to be a market, and an energy company with a fist up the ass of the whole project... If they can't control it they don't want it...

@Fido,

@farmerman,
Every year five times more carbon compounds are created with the help of the sun than we oxidize... we forget how much the force of gravity added to the process of oil and coal production. We could burn up our forests in a moment. What we take from the ground yearly is eons of forests.. we would have to use far more energy than we could reap from the yearly total if it were possible to reap it at all.

@Fido,
we can "build" petrol substitutes from naturally occuring methane and ethylene gas.These are renewable bt, as you say, the magic ingredients are time, temperature and pressure to make all of the higher petrolem compounds. Gunga wold have us believe that complex petroleum compounds are formed renewably and quickly.
Why is it that ALL petroleum finds occur ONLY in specific geologic horizona that include ancient marine sediment deposits containing specific organisms.
Ill bet gunga cant tell us what is the youngest aged oil and gas reported

@gungasnake,
This is based on the abiotic hypothesis of petroleum. The problem is that the abiotic hypothesis of petroleum has been shown not to hold a bucket of spit.

Energy is like manna in the desert... It is all over the place at times, but the investment of energy in gathering energy must yield a larger return...Gung wants something for nothing, and naturally will not get it...
