It's in the Huffington Post, so you know it's true!
Quote:
When long-time Chicago lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender activist Kelly Cassidy was appointed last spring to the Illinois Statehouse of Representatives, a saga between rivals began.

... One of those who had vied for the spot was Paula Basta, also an out lesbian and a long-time LGBT activist.

Basta announced that same April day that she would attempt to unseat Cassidy the first opportunity she could. The contest will culminate in the Illinois Democratic primary on March 20.

Their contest may mark one of the first times two openly LGBT candidates have faced off for a state office

The Democratic primary is the real election around here, so whoever wins the primary wins the seat. Apparently, this represents some sort of power struggle within the lesbian community, which is centered in the Andersonville neighborhood, a part of the 14th state legislative district. So my choice is between the young, progressive, bespectacled, Democratic-organization-backed lesbian or the older, feisty, grassroots-activist lesbian.

I'm so torn.

In my opinion, I would vote for the older lesbian, since with age one might have reconciled one's attitudes about whether the staus quo allows for a degree of stability in society that a younger person might think is inconsequential.

So, like crossing out the similar numerators and denominators in solving an equation, the lesbian persuasian point is a non-sequitor, in my opinion.

@Foofie,
Yeah, the lesbians cancel each other out, which is not the first time that has happened to me.
