Five Million on Terror List
U.S. security agents have a master list of five million people worldwide thought to be potential terrorists or criminals, Canadian officials told the Toronto Sun The terror list is classified and there is no way to check if one's name is on it or get it removed if it is placed there inadvertantly. The actual number of people on the list was revealed to Canadian Immigration authorities and leaked to the paper. Anyone whose name is on the list is questioned or banned from entering the U.S. -- as passengers were on two British Airways flights to Los Angeles two weeks ago.

Instead of being dismayed by the U.S.'s terror tactics, however, Canada is joining in and plans to rate all airline passengers on a 1 to 10 scale, 1 being the safest, with 10 perhaps reserved for Osama himself.

I'm sure anyone who criticises the US government will be on that list. It's facsism in the making. If you're not already there!!!

Are you sure? You don't think that you might be overstating the case a bit?

The original story is here:
http://www.canoe.ca/NewsStand/TorontoSun/News/2004/01/20/318488.html

I suspect that 99% of the people on it are of the "criminal" variety - not the "terrorist" variety but that remains to be seen one way or the other.

Considering the US prison population was at 2 million people as of June of last year the 5 million number seems pretty small. What's the total world population figure for people that have been convicted of a crime in the last 20 or 30 years?

Actually, it should decrease if that were to happen because many of those that would be suspected are presumed to be hiding there.

Thanks for the link. As you say, no way of knowing, but my guess would be the opposite of yours.

Yeah, but then they'd find a bunch more "terriosts", and target them. As well as more people might protest that war, and be stuck on the list.

Thanks to the Patriot act, any one on that list could be arrested for almosat no reason at all.

Thank you Patriot Act! *sarcasm*

Neo Fascism
That is what I describe the Neocon, PNAC group. Another term of these thugs and we will be a 3rd World country with a Dictatorship of Neo Fascists.

The Dems are also on the corporate welfare wagon but at least they proclaim that they will tone down our wage slave state and provide some relief from the Neo Fascist Corporate onslaught.

Simple pragamatism limits the amount of damage the government can do. In the most extreme scenario, half the population would have to be employed watching the other half--and who would watch the watchers?

Say . . . i'll bet this is the Shrub's new jobs program ! ! !

Out of curiostity pistoff, what political part do you support, if any?
A friend of mine's father seems to be a possibility for the "list". And mainly because his cousin helped a villiage in some third world country get electricity, and was shot for it by the CIA.

I'm not sure that my assumption was born or any constitutional tendency towards pessimism so much as (let's do occam's razor here) just the simple consequence of being temporarily drug-free.

What can we do to get on that list,
and how can we score higher?

It's our patriotic duty to get as much of the population as possible
recognized and supported in the pursuit of terrorists.

Has America become an amusement park for terrified thrill-seekers,
who feel fear at every shadow in the darkness?

CIA
At this time I am in the Green Party but am thinking of signing up with the Socialist Party.

The CIA are info gatherers and assasins for the Capitalists. Their function is to kill any movement or leader that won't play along with the Capitalists. America has not been about been about Democracy only subjegation of workers and dominating resources. Capitalists don't believe in Democracy. America is not a Democracy. It is a Plutocracy.
